The old terraced vineyard of Gambacher Kalbenstein is located in the middle of the nature reserve and is farmed by hand. Healthy grapes, gently pressed and spontaneously fermented. In the cellar is worked without intervention - no more but also no less.
We make wine that we like to drink: organically grown, made without additives and without ruffles.
It’s been about ten years, that we got our winery in Gambach, a smallish village, about a half hour drive northwest of Würzburg.
Our winery is located in Franconia, and Franconia has a very special identity among German wine-growing regions. Franconian wines are completely different. This has to do with the grape varieties, the geographic location, the rocks in the subsoil, but also with our cultural tradition.
All wines are spontaneously fermented, make the BSA, are unfined, unfiltered and minimally sulfured only at bottling. At harvest we pay less attention to Oechsle, but more to a coherent overall impression with attention to a balance between freshness, tension and liveliness.
